She was greeted by excited school children who waved St George's Cross flags and lined up to catch a glimpse of her. The Duchess knelt down and chatted to the pupils, asking them about their favorite subjects and what they like most about school. Then she made her way inside to meet those helped by the project.

Kate was joined by comedian John Bishop, to see first-hand the work that has been done regarding the M-PACT Plus she launched to help families affected by addiction.

The pair launched the M-PACT (Moving Parents and Children Together) Plus project on a visit to Willows Primary School in Wythenshawe, Manchester, last year.

The initiative, which is funded by The Royal Foundation and Comic Relief, and delivered by charities Place2Be and Action on Addiction, aims to provide early support for schoolchildren affected by a parent's drug or alcohol misuse.

Once inside the school, Kate met with project coordinators and school head teachers before joining a private counseling session, all before listening to speeches.
